Some more images from the Kodak Retina IIIC. It is a great camera which makes it all the more of a shame that the 50mm lens has damage. And look I managed to sneak in another blossom image.

When you shoot film you tend to try to make every exposure count, at least more than with digital. These images are from the same 36 exposure roll of Ektar 100 that I used for testing the camera.

Ok I’m no wine expert but I don’t think this was a very good year.

This was shot with the Kodak Retina IIIc in case you got past the wine barrel garbage can connection.

So I received my negatives back today from Lens and Shutter who also supplied me with this camera. If you read my first post about this camera I wrote how the 50mm lens had been damaged, well that had little effect on the actual images. So here are some samples and also views of the camera itself with the 35mm lens and viewfinder attached. The 50mm lens does have considerable barrel distortion which I have corrected in Lightroom where it mattered.

I’m not sure how this happened, with the double exposure, but it prompted a search and it turns out that it should be possible to duplicate. With the Spectra camera I use apparently you can fool the camera into not ejecting the exposed Polaroid by opening the camera while continuing to hold the shutter button. Once fooled then you can take the second exposure. If the right images present themselves I’m going to give it a try, on purpose this time.

It’s almost hard to believe that this is the method that was used for flash photography not so many years ago.

OK that’s it for blossoms not only because they are mostly gone at this point but isn’t that enough? That’s a rhetorical trick question, if you like blossoms it’s never enough and if you don’t then seeing them in infrared isn’t going to calm you and make you at peace with nature.

Sometimes you see something and just know it belongs with something else.
