Highland Valley Copper (I)

This is a view of the tailings pond of the Highland Valley copper mine, euphemistically refered to as the valley impoundment.  As you may notice I’ve titled this as number one, I intend to paint others including hopefully this site in the future.

Stunning! Haven’t visited for a while and the first thing I am presented with is this. I know very little about painting, but I know what I like and this beautiful palette of soft and subtle colours is just to my tastes. I recall you were roughing this out earlier in the year. I really like how it turned out.
