{"id":11360,"date":"2014-02-15T09:49:49","date_gmt":"2014-02-15T17:49:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wkoopmans.ca\/notebook\/?p=11360"},"modified":"2014-02-15T09:49:49","modified_gmt":"2014-02-15T17:49:49","slug":"pentax-k-3-timelapse-interval-movie-mode","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wkoopmans.ca\/notebook\/?p=11360","title":{"rendered":"Pentax K-3 Timelapse (Interval Movie Mode)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I did a test of the Interval Movie mode of the Pentax K-3.\u00a0 This is where you set the camera to record for a set period of time taking pictures at intervals you also set and then it automatically builds them into a movie file.\u00a0 In this case I set it to record in full HD, even though 4K is an option\u00a0but I don&#8217;t actually have anything to view a 4K file on and I&#8217;m not sure if my current software can handle them.\u00a0 It was an interesting test and I learned a few things I will share.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/86390344\" height=\"281\" width=\"500\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/86390344\">Narcissus\u00a0Timelapse<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/user2009133\">Wallace Ross<\/a> on <a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\">Vimeo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Things I learned:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.<strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>One image every 30 seconds is unnecessarily often for flowers.\u00a0 (the video is sped up) maybe 1 every 2 minutes would have worked here even 1 every 5min for a longer period.<\/p>\n<p>2. Even though most of the light was from the fluorescent lights in the room there was a lot of variation from the light coming from a small window.<\/p>\n<p>3. A fully charged battery with the 3 second review set can run the set up for about 5 hours.\u00a0 (Next time I will turn\u00a0the rear display completely\u00a0off)<\/p>\n<p>4. If you don&#8217;t want the flowers to\u00a0open up\u00a0before you even begin\u00a0don&#8217;t bring them into a warm house.<\/p>\n<p>5.
