Gravel (Contrasting forms)

I don’t have much to say about these images other than that they are all about breaking up the uniformity of the gravel with a contrasing element.  In the first it’s the pattern impressed into the gravel itself and with the second it’s the sign.

I took a trip to an old bauxite quarry a few months ago. The scenes were fantastic; subtle shades of colour and tones created by the diffuse light. These are scenes that are extraordinarily difficult to capture photographically, but if you do manage, you can produce some wondrous images.
