8 Months Later

Eight months is not very long but it is enough time for us to modify the land and start building.  I’m not against building places for people to live but I still feel a sense of loss for this little oasis of grass land that was home to owls and coyottes and many things in between.  I don’t know of any other place nearby where wild flowers bloomed like this.

yes, it is discouraging; will the earth survive us? never mind the question will we survive on earth. what is the answer?

It is always sad to see these areas die, and what replaces them is rarely pleasant to look at. It just makes us photographers so much more important.

i had a field similar to this near me where the bobolinks would nest every year, it was great to see them fly straight up and down like a shot when they were there- sadly the field, and many like it are all houses now. where do the birds go? there has to be a balance, but how. you hit a nerve in me with this post .
